Fendari magazine (with English
Summary) Satahanka by night Satahanka is never absolutely silent, not even after the silence has began in the evening. For patrolleaders as well as for those serving in all kinds of service duties the few hours in the evenings are time to sit down and relax a bit and have perhaps a cup of coffee. In the camp there are two "cafés" for leaders. VJ-Clubi for patrolleaders and Nattens Öga (The Night's Eye) for scouts with yellow scarfs in serviceduties. All work ends not even then. Securitypersonnel and harbourguards watch all the night, preparing next days magazine often takes also the hours of the night, not to mention all other duties that has to be done also during the hours of darness.
Last night the scouts gathered by the ruins of the main fortress of Bomarsund by the great campfire of Satahanka. Finnish and foreigner "artists" presented their programmes and songs sang in all the three official languages of the camps echoed from the thick granitewalls. During the night the camp could watch and listen old japanese traditional music and dance as well as a little bit more modern english culture. All necessary by the campsite The scoutshop is open for all in the Satahanka during the morning from 10 AM to 13 PM and afternoons from 4 PM to 7 PM. There are available lots of necessary camping gear and of course official Satahanka-products. (C) Satahanka Web Team 1998 --- Last updated 06.08.98 --- satahanka98@www.partio.fi |
